How many people will be on the retreat?

There will be 14 - 18 in total, small enough for individual attention and space, big enough to connect with like-minded people.

I'm new to yoga? Is this OK?

It is suggested that you have at least 3 months experience before joining us on retreat. This will allow you to gain the most benefit from your time away. If you've done plenty of yoga you will be in your happy place.

I'd love to bring my partner but they don't practice yoga, is that OK?

Yes. We want you to have the best trip. We encourage partners to join the yoga sessions, however if they do not practice yoga they are free to enjoy the rest of what the island has to offer. The prices remain the same whether or not your partner decides to join us for yoga.

I want to come alone, but don't want to share a room, what do you suggest?

The Pacifica bungalows are gorgeous - either in the garden or beachfront. They are made up of one large room with kitchen/living space/bed and a separate inside toilet with outside bath and shower. There are 2 options available.


If you would like your own bungalow with a beautiful 4-poster bed and living space, then the 'Divine' option is for you. The Peace package is the same size bungalow (beachfront or garden) shared with one other. Instead of the living space, there is an extra Queen or King bed - this means you will be sharing a sleeping space. 

Will there be coffee or alcohol available?

We understand that going without your trim flat white or glass of Sav for 5 days is a big ask! However this is the perfect opportunity for you to reduce your caffeine and alcohol consumption under our care and guidance. We ask you to question your habits and bring your best self to the foreground. By reducing stimulants you increase your overall wellbeing. Ultimately though, this is your retreat. You get to choose what to include while you're here, we leave it up to you to make your own decisions.

What's the schedule like?

The retreat can be as busy or as quiet as you like. There is a sample itinerary on the main page and while there are optional extras, it's up to you to decide how much or how little you'd like to do. A  full itinerary will be sent to you a couple of weeks before the retreat.

Do I have to attend all classes at the retreat?

We encourage full participation - the retreat has been designed as a whole. We want you to be the best version of yourself possible, and your commitment will take away the stress of deciding whether or not to attend. However, this is YOUR retreat. While we encourage participation, if you prefer to skip meditation for a swim in the ocean or something that will support your wellbeing, then do this with mindfulness of your own best interests at heart.

Do you cater for food intolerances?

Yes. just let us know and we'll do our best to meet your needs.

How do I book?

To register your interest, send us an email. We'll send you registration details to complete. Once you pay your deposit, your place is confirmed.

What about flights?

You can fly with Air New Zealand, Jet Star or Virgin. There are often sales to the islands - just keep an eye on the websites. If you would like to stay at Magic Bungalows for longer we can book this for you at a discount. If you prefer help with your flights, we can recommend an excellent travel broker who will be able to book Air NZ flights (same price as online). She will also be able to advise flight times that most suit. IMPORTANT: Rarotonga is 1 day behind NZ and Australia, this means you will book your outward flight on Thursday 20th, in order to arrive on Wednesday 19th. Your return flight will arrive one day later than when it leaves Raro. If you're unsure just ask :).

What if I need to cancel?

A $500 non-refundable deposit secures your place. Depending on when you cancel you may receive a full or part refund. Please make sure you check our terms and conditions sent out when you register.

What about insurance?

We do not provide insurance and recommend you organise this when you book your retreat. Travel insurance,  can help cover your expenses if you get delayed, your baggage is lost, you end up in the hospital, or you need to cancel due to a family emergency. We will require you to sign a cancellation policy and liability waver on registration.
